Rate: $125.91 per hour + 12% superannuation

We are seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the ongoing support, maintenance, enhancement and delivery of key HR and complaints management applications within a large, complex government environment.
This role will suit a Project Manager who is comfortable working across application support, minor releases, enhancements, vendor engagement, business analysis and change management. You will play a key role in ensuring critical business systems remain stable, secure, user-centred and aligned with operational needs.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing the ongoing delivery and improvement of business-critical applications, including coordinating incidents, service requests, system upgrades, enhancements and release activities.
You will work closely with technical teams, vendors, business units and senior stakeholders to ensure systems are maintained effectively, risks are managed, and changes are delivered with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the support, maintenance and optimisation of key business applications to ensure stability, performance and availability
- Coordinate and prioritise workloads across incidents, service requests, enhancements and minor releases
- Manage system upgrades, patches and maintenance activities with minimal disruption to business users
- Liaise with technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver continuous improvement
- Maintain system documentation, processes and configuration records in line with policy and compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain a forward schedule of enhancements, releases and maintenance activities
- Monitor system performance, identify risks and emerging issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders regarding changes, outages, risks and priorities
- Coordinate testing, release readiness and change management activities for production changes
- Support governance and reporting requirements, including status reports, risk registers and audit responses
About You
To be successful, you will bring strong ICT project management experience within a large and complex environment, ideally across government, HR systems, corporate services or enterprise business applications.
You will be confident managing multiple priorities, engaging vendors, working with technical teams and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an ICT Project Manager, ideally within government or a large enterprise environment
- Strong experience managing ICT projects or application delivery within HR, corporate services or business systems environments
- Demonstrated experience applying PRINCE2 methodology across the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to closure
- Proven ability to lead multifunctional teams and deliver project outcomes in complex organisations
- Strong understanding of change management processes and how to minimise disruption for end users
- High-level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing project communications, reports and governance documentation
- Proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with business stakeholders, vendors, technical teams and senior executives
Highly Desirable
- Current PRINCE2 Practitioner or Professional certification
- Current PMP certification
- Experience using project management tools, including EPO or similar
- Previous experience working on ICT projects within a HR function
- Previous experience within a government environment
