Construction Support Lead – Geotechnical / Tailings

Overview:

As a Construction Support Lead specializing in geotechnical and tailings engineering, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of a significant, high-impact project. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical construction phases, providing expert technical support to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance on-site.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly related to tailings management and construction support
• Strong understanding of construction processes in the mining or resource extraction industry
• Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols related to geotechnical and tailings work

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience working on tailings or dam construction projects
• Familiarity with enterprise project management or construction industry software tools
• Previous experience working in remote or operational environments

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant field experience in construction support or geotechnical roles within the resource sector

Other Requirements:

• 18-month project duration with an 8/6 roster
• Ability to work at the Newman location in a primarily on-site capacity
• Willingness to meet project deadlines and support tender submissions as required
