About the Role
We are recruiting a permanent long term role for a HSEQ Advisor that will be on the ground in WA and driving a more effective and proactive safety approach. Reporting to the Head of HSEQ based in Sydney, you will be the standalone support in the West. You will be highly visible and working closely with operational leaders, frontline supervisors and site-based teams to elevate safety performance across a WA, SA and NT.
This is far more than a compliance-focused position. You will be a trusted business partner, actively engaging with stakeholders, coaching leaders, providing practical guidance and driving national HSEQ initiatives at a local operational level.
You will play a key role in strengthening safety ownership, building capability within the business and ensuring consistency in safety standards across multiple locations and projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational teams across WA, NT and SA to provide practical HSEQ support and guidance
- Drive national HSEQ programs and initiatives, ensuring successful implementation at a regional level
- Conduct site visits, audits, inspections and risk assessments across operational locations
- Coach, mentor and support supervisors and leaders in developing positive safety behaviours
- Lead incident investigations and support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety forums and operational engagement activities
- Analyse safety trends and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce risk
- Build strong relationships that promote accountability and genuine safety ownership
You are an experienced HSEQ professional who understands that strong safety cultures are built through relationships, credibility and visible leadership. You are confident engaging with frontline workers and senior stakeholders alike and can influence positive outcomes through collaboration rather than compliance alone.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a HSEQ, WHS or Safety Advisor position
- A background within construction, maintenance, infrastructure, industrial services or other high-risk environments will be preferable
- Strong working knowledge of contemporary safety management systems and legislation
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations
- Excellent coaching, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence conducting site-based risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher
- A proactive approach with a genuine passion for continuous improvement and cultural development
