- Ensuring the WHS processes, policies, and procedures are updated and satisfy NSW legislative requirements.
- Managing workplace injury claims and ensuring compliance with SafeWork NSW and SIRA NSW.
- Develop and drive tailored Return to Work (RTW) plans in partnership with employees and internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing RTW processes alongside Human Resources.
- Develop and review policies, procedures and supporting documentation, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across WHS systems and processes.
- Implement and maintain a WHS Management System that sustains a safe and healthy working environment.
- Partner with the NSW Management Team to build accountability for workplace safety and increase WHS awareness at all levels. Educate and coach them to enable them to manage WHS issues in their areas.
- Provide advice and supporting internal stakeholders in managing incidents and injuries.
- Manage notices issued by SafeWork NSW or Provisional Improvement Notices issued by Health and Safety Representatives.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, including hazard audits, and respond promptly to remedy WHS issues within their scope of authority and delegation.
About you
- Relevant qualifications in WHS/Occupational Rehabilitation or related field – highly desirable
- Return to Work Coordinator Certification (SafeWork NSW Approved) – Mandatory
- Proven experience in an Injury Management or RTW role
- Advanced knowledge of WHS legislation and associated acts
- Strong understanding of statutory authorities and safety management systems
- Experience in a health services environment (advantageous)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable working with minimal supervision
