We are exclusively recruiting for a friendly and growing business in Harrogate who are looking for a personable and proactive Customer Host to join their team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone currently working within hospitality, retail, hotels, leisure or another customer-facing environment who would love to move into an office-based Monday–Friday role while still using their people skills.

You don't necessarily need previous office experience. We're looking for someone who is naturally warm, organised and helpful, takes real pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming and well-presented environment and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

There are also lots of opportunities to learn, develop and progress within the business, making this a great role for someone looking to build a longer-term career.

The role

As Customer Host, you'll play a key part in making sure everyone coming into the workplace receives a fantastic experience. This is a varied and hands-on position combining customer service, hospitality, cleaning and general upkeep of the environment.

Your day will include:

• Welcoming customers and visitors and providing friendly, professional support
• Building great relationships and being a visible, approachable presence
• Cleaning and maintaining communal areas throughout the day, including reception areas, kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms and refreshment areas
• Carrying out regular cleaning and presentation checks, completing touch-ups and ensuring all areas remain clean, tidy and welcoming
• Restocking bathrooms, kitchens and refreshment areas
• Preparing fresh coffee and ensuring tea and coffee stations are clean and fully stocked
• Helping with catering and setting up and clearing down rooms for meetings and events
• Receiving and distributing post and deliveries
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering everyday supplies
• Carrying out straightforward daily health & safety and compliance checks – full training will be provided
• Reporting maintenance issues and helping coordinate their resolution
• Looking after plants and helping maintain an attractive working environment
• Supporting the wider team with general day-to-day operational tasks

What we're looking for

Previous experience within hospitality, retail, hotels, leisure or customer service would be ideal, but personality and attitude are really important for this role.

You'll be someone who is:

• Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking to lots of different people
• Naturally helpful with a genuine passion for providing great service
• Happy to undertake cleaning and general upkeep as a key part of the role
• Proactive and happy to spot what needs doing without always being asked
• Organised and able to juggle different tasks throughout the day
• Particular about cleanliness, presentation and maintaining high standards
• Reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in
• Looking for a role where you can learn and progress

This would particularly suit someone who loves the customer-facing side of hospitality or retail but is looking for more sociable Monday–Friday working hours and the opportunity to move into an office-based career.
