The Head of Contract Management & Procurement is a newly created leadership position responsible for procurement, contract management, contract auditing and fleet. This is a key opportunity to shape a contemporary and consistent approach across the Shire, improving commercial outcomes and organisational capability. You will lead an important period of transformation, develop a contemporary contract management framework and strengthen governance, systems and reporting. Working closely with the Executive and leaders across the organisation, you will build greater accountability for contract ownership, improve supplier performance and identify opportunities to deliver greater efficiency and value for money. You will also lead and develop the function, building a capable, high performing team and embedding strong procurement and contract management practices across the organisation.

To be considered for the role, you will bring deep procurement and contract management expertise, ideally gained within local government or another complex public sector environment. You will understand procurement governance, controls and assurance and have demonstrated experience developing frameworks, improving systems and reporting, and leading significant change. Importantly, you will have the technical credibility and confidence to operate independently, influence senior stakeholders and provide clear and commercially focused advice.
