- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Support leave management (FMLA, ADA, state specific leaves).
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for both corporate and property level employees.
- Partner with Finance and Operations on headcount planning, payroll forecasting, and workforce reporting.
- Oversee multi state payroll processes for salaried and hourly employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Partner with third party payroll providers to manage audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
- This position requires 20% travel.
Qualifications:
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, with direct responsibility for payroll and employee relations.
- Direct experience working within a multifamily property management company and a strong understanding of the employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and operational challenges unique to a geographically dispersed property management workforce.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi state payroll and labor compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, state wage laws).
- Experience supporting hourly, distributed, or operations heavy workforces (property management, hospitality, retail, or similar).
