Freelance Ecologist – National Highways
Location: North West – Manchester & Liverpool Rate: £425/day Start Date: 12 October 2026 Duration: Approximately 3 weeks Contract: Freelance
We have a new freelance ecology requirement supporting the management of ash dieback affected trees across 26 National Highways locations in the North West, predominantly around Manchester and Liverpool.
The project is due to start on 12 October and is expected to run for approximately three weeks.
The Work
You’ll be supporting tree management works by:
Identifying ecological constraints associated with ash dieback works
Working alongside the wider project and highways teams
Essential Requirements
You must hold:
National Highways Passport
CSCS
Safety Critical Medical
Previous experience working on highways projects and undertaking PEA / GLTA work would be highly beneficial.
