An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a leading global investment management organisation and play a key role in the ongoing development and evolution of its enterprise data and analytics platform.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with a strong focus on the Microsoft Azure, Fabric and Power BI ecosystem, combining modern data engineering, analytics, semantic modelling and lakehouse architecture.

You will also have the opportunity to work with emerging Microsoft capabilities including Copilot, Fabric IQ, Real-Time Intelligence and AI-powered analytics.

The Role:

• Designing, developing and enhancing enterprise data and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric
• Building and supporting Lakehouse, Warehouse and OneLake solutions
• Developing scalable data pipelines and dataflows within Fabric
• Designing and developing enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models
• Building well-governed semantic models, data ontologies and consistent business definitions
• Working extensively with DAX, Power Query / M and SQL
• Developing Python / PySpark notebooks within Fabric
• Designing scalable data warehouse and lakehouse solutions using modern architectural patterns
• Supporting the broader adoption of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric across the organisation
• Developing high-quality, secure and well-tested enterprise solutions
• Managing development standards, governance, deployments and code quality
• Troubleshooting complex data and reporting issues and implementing permanent solutions
• Working closely with technology teams and business stakeholders
• Delivering proof-of-concepts and pilots for emerging data platform capabilities
• Exploring new Microsoft technologies including Copilot in Power BI, Fabric IQ and Real-Time Intelligence

About you:

• 8+ years' experience across data engineering, data analytics or data warehousing
• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Advanced Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service experience
• Strong experience with Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse and OneLake
• Experience developing Fabric pipelines and dataflows
• Advanced DAX, M / Power Query and SQL
• Strong experience with semantic modelling and enterprise data models
• Experience designing scalable and secure enterprise data platforms
• Experience using Python / PySpark notebooks
• Strong data warehousing and relational / dimensional modelling experience
• Experience working within structured enterprise development, testing and deployment environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

The Opportunity

This is a 12-month contract paying $950 p/d inc Super, offering the opportunity to work in a sophisticated investment technology environment where Microsoft Fabric is becoming a strategic enterprise data platform.
