The Opportunity You'll be managing a varied and rewarding emergency caseload, working closely with specialists across surgery, internal medicine, imaging and critical care to achieve the very best outcomes for companion animals and their owners.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys the pace and challenge of emergency medicine while valuing the support of a multidisciplinary referral environment. The hospital provides advanced specialist services across surgery, internal medicine, imaging, physiotherapy and 24-hour emergency care.
Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage companion animal emergency presentations
• Stabilise and treat medical and surgical emergencies
• Develop diagnostic and treatment plans
• Collaborate with specialist clinicians on complex cases
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative clinical culture

About You You'll be a veterinarian who enjoys emergency medicine and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Ideally you'll have:

• Registration (or eligibility) to practise as a Veterinarian in New Zealand
• Previous companion animal experience
• Emergency or critical care experience (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• A genuine passion for providing exceptional patient care
