Working within a high-performing Supply Chain team, you'll have the opportunity to build strong supplier relationships, contribute to inventory optimisation, and play an integral role in ensuring products are available to meet customer demand.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join a busy and collaborative Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end to end purchasing process across a domestic supplier network. You'll ensure inventory levels are maintained, purchase orders are processed accurately, supplier performance is monitored, and products are delivered on time to support business operations and customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supplier relationship management, problem-solving, inventory planning and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders within an ERP system
  • Maintain inventory levels to minimise stock shortages while optimising inventory turns
  • Build strong relationships with domestic suppliers and proactively manage supplier performance
  • Expedite orders and coordinate deliveries to meet business requirements
  • Monitor supplier lead times, production schedules and potential supply risks
  • Communicate supply updates with key internal stakeholders
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues while maintaining corrective action records
  • Review purchase order and invoice discrepancies and process variations
  • Source pricing for new products and support supplier negotiations
  • Identify and maintain accurate product and purchasing data within company systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and purchasing projects
  • Assist with training new team members when required
  • Provide purchasing support across the team during leave periods
  • Participate in annual stocktakes
About You

You are an experienced Purchasing or Supply Chain professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys building strong supplier relationships while ensuring operational excellence.
You will also bring:
  • 3-5 years' experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain within a fast paced B2B environment
  • Previous experience managing supplier relationships and resolving supply issues
  • Strong knowledge of ERP purchasing systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent data accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, wholesale or distribution environments will be highly regarded
