Our client is seeking a Legal Advisor, Construction Disputes to join its legal team. This role will focus on providing legal support on construction-related matters across major projects and stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities

Provide independent legal advice on construction matters to the Projects Division and other internal stakeholders

Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of construction-related documents, including contracts, consultancy agreements, insurance, and IP-related matters

Manage ongoing construction disputes and related legal issues, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers

Supervise assistant legal staff, external solicitors, counsel, and consultants to ensure effective case management, budget control, timely delivery, and strong quality standards

Attend meetings with project teams and prepare papers on disputes, settlements, claims, and legal strategy

Handle other legal duties as assigned
Requirements

Around 6–9 years of post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction

Construction and infrastructure experience, ideally including government or public-sector projects in Hong Kong

Strong experience in construction contract drafting and dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation

Exposure to public bodies, government departments, or private practice handling construction/infrastructure disputes is a strong advantage

Able to work under pressure and respond quickly

Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese
