About the organisation
.au Domain Administration Limited (auDA) is Australia’s country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) administrator and self-regulatory policy body, which oversees the operation and management framework of the .au domain of the internet. auDA is a community-based not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee, with more than 6,000 members who are vital stakeholders and support auDA’s work and in meeting the changing needs of Australian internet users. auDA is endorsed by the Australian Government and has an agreement with the global Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers to manage the .au ccTLD. auDA’s role is to provide a safe, secure and operational namespace for more than 20 million Australian internet users. Under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (Cth), auDA has been declared as the entity that is critical to the administration of the Australian Domain Name System.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a member of the executive team, the Senior Director, Communications, Marketing, Member & Stakeholder Engagement leads a team spanning communications, membership, events, stakeholder engagement, and brand and marketing. The role is responsible for protecting and enhancing the reputation of both auDA and .au through consistent, effective communication and stakeholder engagement across government, industry, members, media and the broader community. The Senior Director will provide strategic counsel to the CEO, Chair and Board on reputation, public affairs, member and stakeholder matters, and will oversee delivery of media relations, digital communications, publications, impactful events and membership programs. A significant priority is strengthening member and stakeholder engagement, while leading a high performing and collaborative team which is a trusted, enterprise-wide partner. The role also carries responsibility for issues management, crisis communications and reputation risk, and will support auDA's stakeholder engagement across an increasingly broad regulatory and government landscape.
About you
You are a senior communications and stakeholder engagement executive with a proven track record leading corporate affairs, public affairs, membership, stakeholder engagement and marketing functions. A background in member organisations and industry associations, as well as technology, telecommunications, internet governance or a regulated digital environment is advantageous. Your career reflects genuine breadth leading multi-function teams across communications and stakeholder strategy, member engagement growth, reputation and issues management, as well as effectively overseeing brand, marketing, advocacy and events. Possessing executive presence, you are comfortable sitting at the executive table and representing the organisation at this level internally and externally. Adept at managing complex stakeholder environments and navigating reputation risk, you thrive on fostering a culture of collaboration and enterprise-wide service across your team. Exposure to government, regulators or policy-makers is desirable, as is knowledge of data, CRM platforms and contemporary IT tools.
