Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our 1st shift team. The Quality Technician plays an important role in maintaining product quality and ensuring manufacturing processes remain on track.
This position will operate CMM and NDT equipment, perform dimensional and visual inspections, inspect welds using microscopes, and use precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers. The Quality Technician will work closely with Production and Engineering to ensure parts meet specifications and that quality issues are identified, documented, and addressed promptly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Develop and modify CMM programs using 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment as required.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Use precision measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect welds using a microscope and perform visual inspections before and after E-coat.
- Use weld maps and inspection criteria to verify product quality.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts meet design requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and document non-conformances (NCRs).
- Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to Production and Engineering.
- Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions (CAPA).
- Complete required quality documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Engineering degree is a plus.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 2–5 years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience operating and programming CMM equipment.
- Experience with CMM inspection software preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment.
- Comfortable using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions
This is a shop-floor position in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must be able to:
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Stand and walk for most of the work shift.
- Bend, crouch, reach, and move around equipment and parts as required.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Work in varying seasonal temperatures.
- Work in an environment with production-floor noise.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, sleeves, pants, and gloves.
