Waste services Team Leader | Remote work | NT

CELOTTI WORKFORCE is currently seeking an experienced Team Leader Waste Services to join our client’s Technical Services team in Remote, NT.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong waste management, landfill, recycling or resource recovery experience, combined with heavy vehicle and mobile plant operation. You will lead from the front, coordinating daily waste operations while supporting the team to maintain safe, efficient and environmentally compliant services across the resort.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Waste Management team
• Coordinate waste collection, transfer station, landfill and recycling operations
• Allocate personnel and resources to meet daily operational requirements
• Operate waste collection vehicles and mobile plant, including rear-lift waste trucks, excavators and dozers
• Provide hands-on support across landfill management, recycling, resource recovery and hard waste collections
• Monitor daily workloads and ensure scheduled works are completed efficiently
• Conduct and review inspections of vehicles, plant and waste facilities
• Maintain landfill areas, recycling zones, waste storage areas and site facilities to a high standard
• Monitor and maintain waste management plant, vehicles and equipment
• Ensure operations comply with environmental, safety and legislative requirements
• Train, mentor and support Waste Management Operators
• Liaise with the Waste Services Manager regarding staffing, resources and operational priorities
• Promote a strong safety and environmental culture across the team

Our Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a team leadership, supervisor or senior operational role
• Previous experience in waste management, landfill, recycling, resource recovery or environmental services
• Current HR Driver Licence
• Current Excavator competency/licence – essential
• Dozer experience highly desirable
• Experience operating heavy vehicles and mobile plant
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and motivate a team
• Strong understanding of workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Reliable, accountable and professional with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and lead by example
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on operational duties
