Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity

The Company
This is an established organisation with a finance team that manages standard accounting transactions (but not AP/AR) and reporting requirements. The role sits within a structured environment where processes are followed and contributions to operational financial accuracy are valued.

The Role

• Manage daily cash and treasury-related activities, such as cash reporting and bank reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end administrative tasks.
• IRD compliance realted activities 
• Work with current finance software and systems, including manual processing steps, online access, and direct communication via phone or email with banks, suppliers, and customers as needed.
• Assist with preparation, lodging, and follow-up of bond and bank guarantee documentation submitted to banks.

Your Profile

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external parties. 
• Proven ability to work accurately and organised in environments requiring manual processes and practical problem-solving.
• Candidates will need valid working rights for New Zealand.
