Developer / Tech Lead – Insurance / Cloud – 3 Months Contract / 70k to 90k

I am currently helping our Client seeking a Developer or Tech Lead to join the team in Hong Kong.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop the system architecture across backend, frontend, batch, and infrastructure layers.
  • Create and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) that document design choices, trade-offs, and rationale for long-term maintainability.
  • Lead the design of multi-datasource strategies, dual-write transaction patterns, and safe migration approaches for large volumes of legacy stored procedures and data access objects.
  • Define and enforce API contract standards, such as REST design, versioning, and error schema, across all project endpoints is an essential part of your role.
  • Provide architectural guidance on cloud-native patterns, including stateless services, externalized configuration, container security, and Helm overlay strategies for multi-cloud portability, is crucial.
  • Contribute production-ready code across backend, frontend, and infrastructure as required.
  • Lead complex technical deliverables, such as Spring Security 6 + OAuth2/OIDC integration, multi-datasource HikariCP wiring, stored procedure mapping via SimpleJdbcCall, and file processing pipelines.
  • Oversee the modernization of Java batch jobs, including scheduling and integration concerns.
  • Review and enhance all Dockerfiles and Helm charts to meet container security requirements.
  • Governance the team's use of GitHub Copilot (GHCP) as the primary AI coding assistant throughout the program delivery.
  • Establish and enforce team-wide engineering standards, define and communicate the AI output review protocol, and set guardrails for responsible AI usage.
  • Track and report AI-assisted delivery productivity metrics.
