CNC Machinist – 1st Shift

Location: Mentor, Ohio
Pay: $22–$28 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who can confidently take a job from setup through completion? We are seeking a dependable, self-directed machinist with experience operating both CNC mills and lathes. This opportunity is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing accurate parts and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Make offsets and light edits to existing CNC programs
• Select, install, and change tooling as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications
• Load materials and properly secure parts for machining
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments
• Troubleshoot minor machining, tooling, and quality issues
• Maintain production records and accurately document completed work
• Keep machines and work areas clean, safe, and organized
• Consistently produce quality parts within required tolerances

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience is required
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes
• Ability to make offsets and light program edits
• Strong blueprint-reading and shop-math skills
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned jobs
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
• Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
