Head of Legal & Governance

This is a rare opportunity to join the ANZ division of a significant global business which delivers an innovative portfolio of products and services to a broad range of clients. This highly visible and influential role is a greenfield opportunity for an experienced lawyer to lead and manage the legal function with both strategic and operational focus. Reporting to the Managing Director and partnering with the senior leadership team, you will provide sound commercial legal advice across contract management, governance, and compliance. As a subsidiary of a European group, the role requires someone equally comfortable navigating international and cross-cultural business environments as they are supporting day-to-day operational legal needs.

You are a passionate, solutions-focused lawyer with 10+ years of corporate/commercial law experience, ideally with some international exposure. You translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance and build strong working relationships across all levels of a business. Commercially astute, you are also credible with senior stakeholders, and energised by working close to the action in a competitive, fast-moving industry. This is a genuine opportunity to shape and build a legal function from the ground up, with direct influence on commercial outcomes. The role is available on a part-time basis, structured either as shorter hours across a full week or across three to four days, making it a compelling option for an experienced lawyer seeking meaningful work with genuine flexibility.
