We are partnering with a highly regarded New Zealand organisation seeking an experienced Corporate Affairs Consultant to help clients and stakeholders navigate periods of change, growth, scrutiny and transformation.
This is an opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys working on complex and varied pieces of work, partnering closely with senior leaders, and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You'll provide trusted advice, help shape communications strategies, and support programmes that have meaningful reputational, commercial and stakeholder impacts.
You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy variety, and be motivated by delivering high-quality outcomes while building strong, enduring relationships.
Key Responsibilities
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping organisations manage reputation, navigate issues, and communicate effectively with a range of audiences. You'll lead the delivery of strategic communications programmes, develop messaging and narratives, provide issues and media counsel, and support clients through complex or high-profile situations.
You'll also contribute to new business initiatives, thought leadership and identifying opportunities to deepen relationships, while supporting and mentoring less experienced team members and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
About You
You bring 7–9 years' experience in corporate affairs, strategic communications, public affairs or a related discipline, with a track record of managing complex work programmes and advising senior stakeholders. Experience gained within a consultancy, agency or advisory environment would be highly regarded, although we're equally interested in hearing from candidates who have built their expertise in-house within corporate, government or regulated environments.
You will hold a degree in Communications, Politics, Journalism, Business, International Relations, or a related field, and have developed strong capability across reputation management, stakeholder engagement, media relations and issues management.
We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, commercially minded and comfortable operating in ambiguous environments. You build credibility quickly, communicate with confidence, and are known for delivering thoughtful advice, asking good questions and finding practical solutions to complex challenges.
Experience using AI tools to support research, content development and communications delivery will be viewed favourably, as will an interest in emerging trends shaping the future of corporate affairs.
This is an opportunity to work alongside talented practitioners on interesting and often high-profile communications challenges, in an environment that values excellence, curiosity, continuous learning and genuinely enjoying the work you do.
