Job Summary
County Materials is seeking a General Manager to lead its Roberts, Wisconsin facility and drive the continued success of one of its key business units. This leadership role carries full profit and loss responsibility while overseeing both sales and operations, ensuring the facility delivers exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a strong background in sales, business development, and operational leadership within the construction materials industry. Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the Roberts facility.
- Develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand customer relationships throughout the region.
- Lead long-term business planning while supporting company growth initiatives.
Sales & Market Development
- Lead and develop the facility's sales organization.
- Drive business development and increase market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry partners.
- Support strategic account growth and customer retention initiatives.
Operations & Team Leadership
- Partner closely with the Plant Operations Manager to optimize plant performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees across sales and operations.
- Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency throughout the facility.
Financial & Operational Performance
- Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve results.
- Ensure efficient coordination between sales, operations, and executive leadership.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Industry Experience
- Proven leadership experience within construction materials, precast concrete, concrete pipe, aggregates, or a related industry.
- Previous P&L ownership and business unit leadership experience.
- Strong background in sales leadership and business development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Candidates with a Sales Manager background who have demonstrated leadership potential are strongly encouraged to apply.
Education & Qualifications
- No formal education requirement.
- Strong business and financial acumen required.
- Experience with structured sales methodologies (such as Sandler) is a plus.
