Freelance Photo Production Project Manager / Producer

Our client, a luxury fashion brand, is seeking a Freelance Photo Production Project Manager in NYC for a part-time assignment expected to run for approximately 3 weeks initially, with the possibility of extensions through final asset delivery.

The primary focus of this role will be hands-on project tracking, merchandise coordination, and inventory accountability throughout the production process, ensuring products are accurately prepared, tracked, shipped, photographed, returned, and reconciled. Candidates should be comfortable working across Shopify, inventory management systems, Google Drive, and Excel while managing production workflows, merchandise logistics, digital assets, and inventory reconciliation. 

Responsibilities

• Manage photography production projects from planning through final asset delivery
• Maintain project timelines, shot lists, production schedules, and status trackers
• Coordinate product samples, inventory tracking, and merchandise logistics throughout the production process
• Partner with photographers, retouchers, studios, and external vendors to ensure timely execution
• Oversee digital asset organization, file management, and image delivery workflows
• Ensure photography assets are accurately aligned with product information and e-commerce requirements
• Coordinate shipping, inventory reconciliation, and production logistics as needed
• Track project budgets, vendor estimates, and production expenses
• Identify project risks, troubleshoot issues, and proactively drive solutions
• Collaborate with creative, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in photo production, creative project management, production coordination, or e-commerce content production
• Experience managing photography workflows, product samples, digital assets, and external vendors
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple deadlines and moving priorities
• Experience working with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms preferred
• Knowledge of digital asset management, image production, and post-production processes
• Strong organizational skills with proficiency in spreadsheets, trackers, and project management tools
• Experience managing budgets, timelines, and production logistics
• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Fashion, luxury, retail, or consumer brand experience preferred
• Experience supporting international production and shipping logistics is a plus

Compensation: $40/hr
