About the Role

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall planning, commercial management and successful delivery of construction projects from commencement through to completion.

Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Lead project planning, programming and resource allocation.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Manage procurement, subcontractor engagement and contract administration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and implement strategies to achieve programme milestones.
  • Manage project risks, variations and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Ensure compliance with Queensland building legislation, the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
  • Lead and mentor Site Managers, Contract Administrators, Site Engineers and project teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Prepare project reports and present project performance to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering commercial construction projects valued from $10M+.
  • Experience delivering childcare centres, commercial developments and/or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 builder will be highly regarded; however, we also welcome applications from candidates with experience working for Tier 2 builders or reputable commercial construction companies.
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Queensland building legislation, the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and local construction practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland construction methodologies, compliance requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, procurement, forecasting, cost reporting and contract administration.
  • Experience managing variations, EOTs and subcontractor performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
  • Experience using Procore, Jobpac, Cheops or similar construction management software is highly regarded.
