Crows Nest Community Centre is one of North Sydney's most valued community assets, providing a welcoming and accessible hub for people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances.
Open seven days a week, the Centre welcomes approximately 151,000 visits each year and combines essential community services with health and wellbeing programs, education, social connection and affordable spaces for local organisations and groups. Its reach is enabled by a committed team of nine full-time equivalent staff and more than 200 volunteers.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to lead an organisation with a clear social purpose: relieving disadvantage, strengthening community wellbeing, reducing social isolation and improving quality of life across the North Sydney community.
With strong foundations, an engaged Board, a highly regarded community reputation, established funding and considered financial management, the Centre is well positioned for its next phase of growth and impact. The incoming Executive Officer will work closely with the Board on key priorities including:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the next phase of growth, community impact and service innovation. As a key funding and strategic partner, North Sydney Council plays an important role in the Centre's success. The ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships with Council and other key stakeholders will be critical in maximising community outcomes and supporting the organisation's long-term sustainability.

Candidate Profile

The ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships with Council and other key stakeholders will be critical in maximising community outcomes and supporting the organisation's long-term sustainability.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience within the community, not-for-profit or related sector, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse workforce of staff and volunteers.
- Strong strategic planning capability, with a track record of driving organisational growth, sustainability and impact.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, advocacy and public representation skills, with experience building productive relationships with local government, funding bodies, community organisations and key partners.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial oversight, grant funding and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity and respond effectively to evolving community needs and organisational challenges.
Desirable
- Experience working within community aged care services and an understanding of current aged care reforms.
