Data Scientist – Insurance / Financial Services – 60k to 85k

I am currently helping our Client seeking a Data Scientist with Machine Learning experience to join the team in Hong Kong.

Your role:

• Design, develop, deploy, and oversee agent-centric AI, machine learning, and analytics solutions to boost agent efficiency and refine distribution strategies.
• Apply advanced analytics techniques to extract actionable insights and support data-driven decisions.
• Build, optimize, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modelling, DAX formulas, and visualization best practices to facilitate executive and operational insights.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Customer, Marketing, and IT to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business objectives.
• Guarantee data accuracy, consistency, and integrity from diverse sources.
• Create clear, impactful presentations to communicate analysis results, insights, recommendations, and project updates to senior management.
• Ensure all analytics activities adhere to regulatory standards set by the Insurance Authority, data privacy laws, and internal governance policies.

Ideally you have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Over 5 years of practical experience in data analytics, data science, machine learning, or similar roles, ideally within insurance, financial services, or consulting sectors.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including developing, deploying, and monitoring analytics or machine learning models.
• Proficiency in applying machine learning techniques such as recommendation systems, classification, regression, clustering, forecasting, or propensity modelling
• Experience working with large, complex datasets, including data cleaning, feature engineering, and ongoing model performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, and intelligent automation tools, with the ability to support experimentation and practical implementation.
• A proactive self-starter capable of working independently, managing multiple priorities, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
