About the Role
You will be a trusted advisor to managers and employees within a local council, delivering expert guidance across employee and industrial relations, performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, policy interpretation, organisational change, and HR projects.

You will be a trusted advisor to managers and employees within a local council, delivering expert guidance across employee and industrial relations, performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, policy interpretation, organisational change, and HR projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR, ER and IR advice to managers and employees
- Support performance management, grievances, investigations and workplace matters
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning and recruitment activities
- Assist with position descriptions, classification reviews and organisational restructures
- Interpret employment legislation, enterprise agreements, policies and procedures
- Contribute to HR initiatives, projects and continuous improvement programs
- Build leadership capability and strengthen people management practices
- Qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent experience
- VIC Drivers License
- Strong ER/IR knowledge, including performance management
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and coaching skills
- Strong problem-solving, planning and organisational skills
- Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
- Collaborative and proactive approach
- Ability to influence and build trusted relationships
- Strong customer service mindset
- Confidence managing complex and sensitive people matters
