SEC Reporting Contractor

Overview
Liftoff, a dynamic company that recently transitioned to a public entity, is seeking a highly skilled SEC Reporting Contractor to provide critical support to its Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team. Following the successful filing of its first 10-Q and earnings release, the company requires an experienced professional to lead and execute quarterly and annual SEC reporting functions. This hands-on role demands meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach, and extensive experience with public-company filings in Workiva. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple stakeholders, and ensure accurate, timely disclosures during peak reporting seasons and beyond.

Required Skills

  • Proven hands-on SEC reporting experience within a public company environment
  • Direct experience preparing SEC filings in Workiva, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks
  • Expertise in financial statement and disclosure tie-outs
  • Ability to coordinate smoothly with external auditors, consultants, Investor Relations, and internal teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering accuracy in deliverables
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and independence, capable of working effectively within a lean team

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system
  • Familiarity with Equity Edge Online or similar equity management tools
  • Prior experience supporting investor presentations and earnings scripts

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar credentials are a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant SEC reporting experience, preferably with a public company in a technical accounting or financial reporting role

Other Requirements

  • Location: Remote (preferably PST time zone)
  • Duration: Minimum of 6 months with potential for permanent conversion
  • Start Date: September 1, 2026
  • Peak reporting periods requiring overtime during mid-October through early November, and additional busy periods in January and February
  • Must be able to support a company shut down from December 24 through January 1 and resume work promptly on January 4
