Solution Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solution Architect to lead the design and assurance of enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across a complex technology environment. Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for developing architecture strategies, roadmaps and technical designs spanning networks, servers, cloud platforms, virtualisation, security and systems integration.

Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will provide architectural leadership across major projects and programs, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with organisational objectives. This is an opportunity to influence technology strategy while delivering practical infrastructure outcomes that support business transformation and operational excellence.
  
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  

• Design and govern infrastructure solution architectures across cloud, virtualisation, server, network, security and integration domains.
• Develop technology roadmaps and architecture frameworks that support business strategy and future-state capability.
• Lead architecture activities for large-scale projects and enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to project teams, stakeholders and technology specialists.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, governance frameworks and industry best practice.
• Evaluate technology options and provide costed infrastructure solution designs and recommendations.
• Drive architectural assurance activities, risk assessments and design reviews.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define business requirements, influence technology decisions and achieve strategic outcomes.
• Support systems integration, information security and network architecture initiatives across the enterprise.
• Mentor and support technical teams, promoting architectural standards, capability uplift and continuous improvement.

  
The ideal candidate will have:
  

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect, Solution Architect or similar role within medium to large organisations
• Strong background designing enterprise infrastructure solutions across networking, server platforms, cloud services, virtualisation and security.
• Experience developing solution architectures that balance functionality, performance, security, scalability and cost.
• Demonstrated experience producing solution designs, technical roadmaps and architecture documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with enterprise architecture governance, risk management and design assurance processes.
• Knowledge of systems integration, information security frameworks and enterprise infrastructure best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
• TOGAF Practitioner certification.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix or equivalent virtualisation certifications.
• Microsoft Azure or other cloud architecture certifications.
• Exposure to security compliance, governance frameworks and SOCI requirements.
• Experience leading architecture activities across complex digital transformation programs.
