AO5 Instructional Designer

Public Sector People are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Instructional Designers / Learning Designers for upcoming temporary contract opportunities across Queensland Public Sector.

These roles support the design, development and enhancement of engaging learning solutions for diverse government workforces, including operational, technical, corporate and frontline employees.

This is an Expression of Interest only for temporary positions. We are building a talent pipeline of high-calibre instructional design professionals ahead of anticipated hiring demand across multiple government departments and agencies.

We're looking to connect with candidates who can partner with subject matter experts, stakeholders and business leaders to create effective learning experiences that drive capability development and organisational outcomes. 

Key responsibilities may include:

• Designing, developing and reviewing learning solutions across face-to-face, blended and online delivery formats
• Collaborating with subject matter experts to analyse learning requirements and develop engaging learning materials
• Creating eLearning modules, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, assessments, presentation resources and supporting documentation
• Applying adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and best practice learning frameworks
• Developing interactive digital learning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360 and other learning technologies
• Creating visual learning assets, videos, simulations, activities and assessments to support learner engagement
• Ensuring learning resources are accessible, inclusive and aligned with digital accessibility standards
• Providing advice and guidance on instructional design, learning strategy and capability development initiatives
• Contributing to innovation and continuous improvement through the adoption of emerging learning technologies and practices

About you:

• Experience in instructional design, learning design, learning and development or related roles
• Demonstrated experience designing workplace learning solutions for adult learners
• Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
• Experience using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360 or similar authoring tools
• Excellent written communication and content development skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship management skills
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, inclusive learning design and universal design principles is highly regarded
• Strong visual design capability, including experience with Canva, PowerPoint or graphic design tools, is desirable
• Qualifications in Instructional Design, Training Design and Development, Education, Adult Learning or a related discipline are highly regarded
