This newly created position presents an opportunity to help shape how services across the City Presentation department are planned, measured and improved, while strengthening contract management and commercial practices.
About the Role
The Service Performance and Improvement Partner is responsible for driving continuous improvement, performance optimisation and contract management uplift across the Department.
Reporting to the Manager City Presentation, you will work closely with senior leaders and internal stakeholders to develop and drive value creation initiatives, work plans, KPIs and performance frameworks, coordinate reporting and provide meaningful analysis of outcomes, risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
A key focus will be building consistent and effective contract management practices across the department. You will support operational leaders throughout the contract lifecycle, strengthen governance and performance monitoring, address risks and compliance gaps, and act as an important link between City Presentation and Council’s Procurement team.
You will also use operational and financial data to identify efficiencies in works scheduling and service gaps, support service reviews and improvement initiatives, and prepare high-quality reports, dashboards and briefings that enable informed decision-making.
About You
You are an experienced service improvement, performance or business improvement professional who has worked within a complex operational environment and understands how to translate strategic objectives into practical outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be key, along with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends and risks, and turn insights into clear recommendations that improve service delivery and organisational performance.
Your experience includes developing work plans, KPIs and performance reporting, along with exposure to strategic contract management and an understanding of sound governance, risk and commercial practices.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working across different service areas, you can influence outcomes without direct authority and engage effectively with operational leaders, senior management and a broad range of stakeholders.
Importantly, you are collaborative, pragmatic and solutions focused, with strong written
communication skills and the ability to support change and build capability across teams.
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, public administration, project management or a related discipline is desirable, as is experience within local government or the broader public sector.
