Ready to turn your competitive edge into a career?
If you’ve spent years competing in sport, chasing results and being part of a team, this could be your opportunity to take that mindset into a high-performance recruitment career.
We’re looking for former athletes, competitive personalities and ambitious junior talent to join a growing recruitment team across Australia.
You don’t need years of recruitment experience. In fact, you don’t even need recruitment experience at all.
What matters is your attitude, work ethic, competitiveness and ability to build relationships.
Why this role?
This is a genuine opportunity to learn recruitment from the ground up with a team that invests heavily in its people.
You’ll be trained and mentored by experienced recruiters, including, a former professional hockey player, who understands first-hand what it takes to compete, perform and build a career after sport.
The culture is a huge part of what makes this opportunity different.
It’s competitive, social and supportive. People want to win, but they also want to see the people around them succeed.
What you'll be doing
- Build relationships with candidates and clients across your market
- Identify and engage with talented professionals
- Source candidates through LinkedIn, databases, referrals and networking
- Conduct candidate interviews and understand their career goals
- Develop new business opportunities and build client relationships
- Manage the recruitment process from initial conversation through to placement
- Work towards individual and team targets
- Learn the fundamentals of sales, negotiation and recruitment
- Build a long-term career in a high-performance environment
Who we're looking for
We’re particularly interested in people with an athlete mindset.
You might be:
- A former professional, semi-professional or high-level athlete
- Recently retired from competitive sport
- An athlete looking to transition into a commercial career
- A junior sales professional looking for a bigger opportunity
- Someone competitive, driven and hungry to improve
Some sales experience would be great, but it’s not essential.
We’re more interested in your potential than your resume.
If you’ve competed at a high level, understand accountability, respond well to coaching and genuinely want to get better, we want to hear from you.
What makes you successful here?
You’ll do well if you are:
- Competitive and motivated by results
- Comfortable picking up the phone and talking to people
- Confident and naturally good at building relationships
- Coachable and willing to learn
- Resilient when things don't go your way
- Energetic and positive
- Comfortable working towards targets
- Hungry to build a career, not just find another job
Why athletes?
Recruitment has a lot in common with high-level sport.
There are targets, pressure, setbacks, competition and plenty of opportunities to improve.
The people who tend to succeed are the ones who can stay disciplined, take coaching, keep turning up and continue pushing when things don't go their way.
That’s why this team has such a strong track record of developing athletes into successful recruiters.
The opportunity
This is more than an entry-level recruitment role.
You’ll be joining a business with a strong culture, structured training and genuine career progression, while learning from people who have already made the transition from sport into recruitment.
If you’re an athlete who wants to build a serious career outside of sport, this could be a very good place to start.
