Fabric Sourcing Specialist

Our client is a well-established international consumer products company with a strong global presence across Europe, Asia, and North America. To support the continued development of its sourcing organization, they are seeking a Fabric Sourcing Specialist to join their regional team in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, develop, and manage fabric suppliers and textile mills across Greater China and Asia.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fabric mills, yarn suppliers, and material vendors.
• Drive fabric developments and supplier selection based on performance, quality, cost, and innovation.
• Partner closely with sourcing, engineering, quality, product development, and supply chain teams to support business objectives.
• Monitor supplier capabilities, capacity, and market trends to ensure a competitive and sustainable supply base.
• Support fabric testing, quality requirements, and compliance standards throughout the development process.
• Negotiate costs and identify opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular supplier visits and audits across China and occasionally other locations within Asia.

Requirements

• Degree in Textiles, Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fabric sourcing, textile development, fabric technology, or supplier management.
• Strong understanding of fabric mills, yarn suppliers, textile manufacturing processes, and material development.
• Experience working with suppliers across China is essential.
• Exposure to consumer products, soft goods, children's products, baby products, apparel, footwear, outdoor products, or related industries would be an advantage.
• Strong supplier management, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within China.
