We are seeking an experienced Payroll Project Specialist to support a short-term payroll compliance project following a historical underpayments review.
This role will focus on validating payroll data produced from the project, ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and making amendments where required. It is a hands-on role suited to a highly experienced payroll professional who is comfortable working with large data sets and tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate payroll data generated from an underpayments/compliance project
- Investigate discrepancies and correct errors in line with awards, agreements, and legislation
- Ensure calculations and outcomes are accurate prior to final processing or remediation
- Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all amendments
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify data and resolve issues
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally within compliance or remediation projects
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, and entitlements
- Highly competent in Excel, including working with large datasets (e.g. VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to critically analyse payroll data
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running in a project environment
- Short-term contract supporting a critical payroll compliance initiative
