Job Description
  • A leading public-sector organization is seeking a Business Analyst II to support business stakeholders and technical teams on a complex systems implementation project.
  • The Business Analyst will gather and document business and functional requirements, analyze systems and business processes, develop user stories and process models, and support software testing throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, technical, accessibility, and security requirements.
  • Write and groom user stories in collaboration with business owners and technical teams.
  • Develop business process maps, conceptual models, use case models, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Conduct system and software analysis and support solution design.
  • Develop, execute, and evaluate test cases and test scenarios.
  • Maintain appropriate traceability between requirements, development activities, and testing.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across multiple program areas.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and collaborative sessions in a remote environment.
  • Support project planning and development of project lifecycle artifacts.
Required Skills & Experience
Candidates must meet or exceed the following minimum requirements:
  • 4–7 years: Planning, leading, gathering, and analyzing business and functional requirements in cooperation with business and technical teams.
  • 4–7 years: Developing business process maps and performing fit-gap analyses.
  • 4–7 years: Solving complex problems and troubleshooting software systems.
  • 4–7 years: Collecting requirements simultaneously across multiple program areas with varying business needs.
  • 4–7 years: Gathering, documenting, and capturing design requirements.
  • 4–7 years: Developing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).
  • 4–7 years: Facilitating workshops, meetings, and collaborative work sessions with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
  • 4–7 years: Preparing and executing test plans; leading or assisting team members with testing activities; and documenting and communicating testing results.
  • 4–7 years: Implementing and testing interfaces that exchange data with large, complex legacy systems.
  • 4–7 years: Assisting with development of plans and work artifacts supporting the Project Management Life Cycle.
  • 4–7 years: Experience with SDLC management tools such as HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or Atlassian.
  • 4–7 years: Experience working with workforce development programs, including the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years: Experience working with state government organizations or programs.
Work Arrangement
  • Primarily remote.
  • Must have a secure, dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection.
  • Must be available for regular meetings and collaboration using Microsoft Teams and other business applications.
  • Occasional onsite work may be required in Austin, Texas, with advance notice.
  • Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required.
