Level 3 System Security Assessor / GRC Advisor

A major Defence program is seeking an experienced System Security Assessor / GRC Advisor to support system assessments, authorisation activities, and governance uplift across complex capability environments. This role sits at the senior practitioner level, with ownership of assessment outcomes, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of junior analysts.

What you’ll be doing

• Conducting formal system security assessments in line with Defence frameworks
  
  
• Producing and reviewing system level security documentation, including risk assessments and accreditation artefacts
  
  
• Advising on accreditation and authorisation pathways across Defence programs
  
  
• Mentoring and guiding Level 2 analysts through assessment and documentation activities
  
  
• Supporting governance frameworks, policy development, and process uplift
  
  
• Participating in technical accreditation workshops and security review forums
  
  
• Engaging directly with Defence capability groups, project teams, and senior stakeholders
  
  

What you bring

• Solid experience in Defence cyber GRC, assessment, and authorisation activities
  
  
• Strong understanding of the Defence Cyber Security Assessment & Authorisation Framework
  
  
• Working knowledge of ISM, PSPF, DSPF, and Defence security policy
  
  
• Experience with security risk management and system assurance
  
  
• Reasonable understanding of ICT security architecture and secure system design
  
  
• IRAP aligned assessment experience (highly regarded)
  
  
• Exposure to Defence deployable communications environments (advantageous)
  
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement, advisory capability, and documentation skills
  
  
• Active NV1 (Mandatory)
