About the Organisation
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is one of Australia's most respected child-focused charities, dedicated to ensuring children and young people are free from violence and trauma wherever they live, learn and play. Established in memory of Alannah and Madeline following the Port Arthur tragedy, the Foundation delivers prevention, care and advocacy programs, and leads Dolly's Dream to help prevent bullying and support families and communities across Australia.
With a strong national profile, an excellent reputation, engaged leadership and a highly supportive CEO and Board, the Foundation is entering an exciting period of growth. As it approaches its 30th Anniversary in 2027, there is significant opportunity to expand philanthropic investment, deepen strategic partnerships and further increase its impact for children and young people.

About the Role
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sustainable income growth across philanthropy, major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and bequests as well as contributing to organisation wide strategy. Leading a high-performing team and managing a personal portfolio of major donors and strategic partners, you will play a vital role in securing the funding required to expand the Foundation's impact.
This is an opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on fundraising leader who enjoys building influential relationships, creating compelling funding opportunities and delivering meaningful social impact through philanthropy and partnerships.
In this role you will also:
- Lead and execute the Foundation's philanthropy and partnership growth strategy
- Work closely with program and executive leaders to identify fundable opportunities
- Drive revenue growth across major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and bequests
- Cultivate, secure and steward major donors and philanthropic funders and expand strategic corporate partnerships
- Develop compelling cases for support, funding proposals and support major campaigns and fundraising initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
You are an accomplished fundraising leader with success securing significant philanthropic investment and building long-term strategic partnerships. You have a combination of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and exceptional relationship-building capability. You may currently work within a major charity, university, hospital, or sophisticated fundraising environment and are motivated by the opportunity to lead a successful and growing program.
You will also have:
- Experience in managing major gifts, philanthropy, trusts and foundations, and or corporate partnerships
- Developed and managed donor pipelines and moves management strategies
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills
- Strategic planning, budgeting and revenue forecasting experience
- Strong collaborative leadership style, with the ability to mentor, support and grow a team
