About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for a detail-oriented Electronics Engineer to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves building, bringing up, and reworking vehicle components and PCB assemblies, as well as helping scale these efforts into production. This is a high-impact, hands-on lab role that requires a "quarterback" mindset to ensure that all assets, tools, and components are organized and ready for rapid-turnaround testing. Please note: This role requires travel within the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assembly & Rework: Assemble and rework multi-layer electronic circuit boards and automotive-grade wire harnesses using industry-standard connectors (e.g., TE, Molex, Deutsch).
• Testing & Hardware Maintenance: Build, modify, and repair electrical control panels and test hardware on industrial rack systems and test benches.
• Lab Operations Management: Act as the lab "quarterback" by managing and tracking electrical components and consumables, proactively restocking parts to ensure zero downtime for engineering sprints.
• Equipment Oversight: Create and maintain a "Lend/Receive" system for high-value equipment to ensure accountability and track the intake of prototype parts and outbound shipment of test fixtures.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed inspections of PCBAs and cable assemblies to locate and resolve assembly issues, maintaining the highest standards for low defect rates.

Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronic product assembly, prototype work, and functional verification (testing).
• Proficiency with basic lab equipment (DMM, power supplies, electronic loads) and mechanical hand tools common in electronic assemblies.
• Superb soldering and rework skills, with experience working under a microscope.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with a methodical, detail-oriented approach to work.
• Proficiency in MacOS or Windows with browser-based applications and a proactive, collaborative attitude.
