Technical Architect/Lead

We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Specialist to join a large-scale Cyber Security Program focused on modernising and enhancing enterprise network security environments.

This is a hands-on technical role for a senior specialist with deep expertise in Check Point firewalls, supported by strong experience across Palo Alto, Cisco networking, F5 technologies, and enterprise security infrastructure.
Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in delivering critical firewall replacement, upgrade, and optimisation initiatives that support secure and reliable business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end deployment, upgrade, and configuration of Check Point firewall solutions.
• Provide technical expertise across Palo Alto security platforms and secure web gateway technologies.
• Integrate firewall solutions with Cisco routing and switching environments.
• Support firewall policy governance, optimisation, and compliance activities.
• Work closely with project teams, operational teams, vendors, and system integrators to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical problem resolution.
• Develop high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, implementation plans, change records, test plans, and rollback procedures.
• Contribute to ongoing security architecture and technology improvement initiatives.

About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Extensive hands-on experience with Check Point firewall platforms, including upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, and policy management.
• Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security solutions.
• Solid knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with F5 solutions (LTM, GTM and/or WAF).
• Exposure to AlgoSec or similar network security policy management tools.
• Experience using SolarWinds or similar monitoring and reporting platforms.
• Strong understanding of cyber security principles, frameworks, and operational best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working within large enterprise or complex ICT environments.

Highly Regarded

• Experience supporting major infrastructure modernisation or cyber security programs.
• Previous exposure to healthcare, government, critical infrastructure, utilities, or other highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ITIL and Service Management practices.
• Experience with ServiceNow environments.
