Medical Assistant (MA)

An ambulatory care practice is seeking a Medical Assistant in Bethpage, NY to support both clinical and administrative patient care in a fast-paced clinic setting. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients and care teams while contributing to efficient daily operations and high-quality service.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; occasional late evenings until 8:00 PM
• Setting: Clinic

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and guests, manage patient flow, and communicate wait times
• Support check-in, check-out, registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification
• Answer phones, take messages, and route communications appropriately
• Assist with direct patient care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen handling, and procedure support
• Document patient information in the EMR, scan records, and help maintain clean, stocked exam rooms

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
• Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system

Desired Skills:

• EPIC experience
• Associate degree
• 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
