We're looking for a Senior Designer who wants to create workplaces that people genuinely want to be in.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established New Zealand business that combines workplace strategy, interior design, and project delivery to help organisations rethink how their people work, connect, and perform.
You'll work across workplace, commercial, education, and public sector projects, helping clients move from ideas and aspirations through to beautifully resolved design outcomes.
The Opportunity:
This role is about design leadership.
You'll lead projects from briefing and concept development through to detailed design, working closely with clients to understand their business, their people, and what success looks like for them.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the thinking side of design as much as the creative side. Someone who can challenge ideas, guide conversations, and translate complex client needs into compelling workplace environments.
You'll have the opportunity to shape projects from the earliest stages, contribute to client presentations and workshops, and influence the future direction of a growing design team.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Leading workplace and commercial interior design projects from concept through design development
• Developing workplace strategies, space planning solutions, and design concepts
• Creating client presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and visual storytelling
• Producing high-quality design documentation and coordinating design intent throughout project delivery
• Facilitating workshops and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders
• Collaborating with strategy, preconstruction, and project teams to ensure design outcomes are realised
• Mentoring junior designers and contributing to team capability
• Staying connected to emerging workplace trends, materials, technology, and design thinking
About You:
You'll be an experienced interior designer with a strong workplace, commercial, or public sector portfolio.
You understand that great design is about more than aesthetics. It's about people, performance, culture, and creating environments that support the way organisations work.
You'll likely bring:
• Proven experience leading workplace or commercial interiors projects
• Strong conceptual design and space planning capability
• Advanced Revit proficiency and technical documentation experience
• Excellent presentation and client-facing skills
• A strong design eye and attention to detail
• The ability to guide clients through the design process with confidence and credibility
Why This Role?
This is a business where design has a genuine seat at the table.
You'll be part of an integrated team that values ideas, collaboration, and innovation, while still giving designers the autonomy to influence projects and outcomes.
For someone who enjoys client engagement, workplace strategy, design thinking, and creating meaningful spaces, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
If you're looking for a role where you can lead design conversations, shape workplace environments, and continue growing as a designer, we'd love to hear from you.
