Job Overview:
Build the team. Strengthen the operation. Keep production moving. Ingersoll Rand’s Alsip facility supports the IRP, MP Pump and Oberdorfer Pump businesses, trusted brands known worldwide for reliable, innovative and durable fluid-handling solutions.  We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who is, first and foremost, a skilled people manager. This strategic, highly visible role will build and develop a skilled maintenance team, strengthen accountability and help shape maintenance across a large, complex machine shop supporting more than 80 machining centers. Success requires more than resolving the equipment issue at hand. It takes a curious, technically credible supervisor who can bring structure to a fast-moving environment, set clear expectations and develop practical strategies that improve uptime, safety, production and long-term reliability. This supervisor will assess team capabilities, identify development needs and connect technicians with the training and resources needed to grow.

The right professional will bring solid industrial maintenance knowledge and an understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems. CNC expertise is helpful but not required. More importantly, this person must be willing to learn from experienced technicians, thoughtfully challenge existing practices and collaborate with site leadership to advance accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence. Union-environment leadership experience is highly valued, along with the judgment to work effectively within established rules and protocols. This opportunity extends beyond hands-on equipment repair. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Purchasing and Finance, this supervisor will develop people, influence maintenance strategy and help keep employees safe, equipment running, customers supported and the Alsip facility positioned for continued growth.

Ready to develop people, build accountability and create a stronger, safer and more reliable maintenance operation? We want to hear from you.
