Job Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for accurately picking, packing, receiving, and moving materials and finished goods to support production and on-time order fulfillment. This position uses RF scanners and inventory systems to maintain accurate material transactions while ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently. Team members may be cross-trained to support other departments based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Pick, count, pack, and prepare parts and hardware according to packing lists and customer orders using RF scanners.
- Receive goods and complete material, delivery, and shipment transactions in Sage ERP or other applicable inventory systems.
- Move, stock, and organize parts, materials, and finished goods in designated warehouse and production locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, paperwork, and system transactions for all materials received, moved, or shipped.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely to transport materials throughout the facility.
- Support production and distribution operations by delivering components and materials to designated areas while following established safety, quality, and process standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and participate in general housekeeping activities.
- Support cross-training and other warehouse or material-handling duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or distribution environment preferred.
- Experience using RF scanners or handheld scanning devices for picking, receiving, tracking, or moving materials.
- Experience with an ERP or inventory management system such as Sage, SAP, or a comparable system.
- Previous forklift or material-handling equipment experience, or the ability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to accurately follow packing lists, work instructions, and established inventory procedures.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 lbs.; materials over 40 lbs. must be moved using appropriate equipment or team assistance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferences:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous Sage ERP experience.
- Previous RF scanner experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Previous forklift and material-handling equipment experience.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position is fully site-based in Sedalia, Missouri. The regular schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Overtime may be required based on production needs, including earlier start times and occasional Saturdays.
