Head of Care – Residential Care Location: Bedford Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you an experienced senior care professional who leads with compassion, inspires others and is passionate about delivering exceptional person-centred care? We are recruiting for a Head of Care to join a warm, established care service in the Bedford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager, Care Manager, Head of Care or Senior Care Leader looking to take ownership of care standards, develop a dedicated team and make a genuine difference to residents’ lives. You’ll be joining an organisation that believes outstanding care is about far more than completing tasks. The Role: Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care Support, motivate and develop care teams to achieve consistently high standards Ensure residents’ dignity, independence, choices and wellbeing remain at the heart of care delivery Oversee personalised care plans, risk assessments and regular reviews Support safe medication management and robust care documentation Lead by example, creating a compassionate and positive culture Maintain excellent safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory standards Support staff supervision, training, development and performance Build trusted relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals Work closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement Support the service in maintaining strong compliance with CQC regulations and fundamental standards Ensure residents receive responsive care that adapts as their individual needs change About You: Previous senior-level experience within a residential or elderly care environment Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and person-centred care Confident leading, mentoring and developing care teams Excellent communication and organisational skills A calm, approachable and compassionate leadership style NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or above desirable Passionate about creating a service where residents are treated with dignity, warmth and respect Benefits: £30,000 – £32,000 annual salary Genuine career progression opportunities Free training and ongoing professional development Support towards further qualifications Training, mentoring and development to support your career Supportive senior management and team environment A strong focus on staff wellbeing and work-life balance The opportunity to work within a values-led care organisation where your contribution is recognised This is more than a senior care position.
