Recycling Specialist

Job Title: Recycling Specialist
Location: Rochester, NY

Job Summary: The Recycling Specialist is responsible for properly handling, sorting, and dismantling materials for recycling in a warehouse operations environment. This role plays a key part in supporting sustainable material recovery by converting end-of-life electronic equipment into reusable and salable commodities while maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

Shift & Pay:

• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Core Responsibilities:

• Handle end-of-life electronic equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Sort and dismantle materials into salable commodities for recycling purposes
• Load and unload inbound and outbound materials in compliance with company Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies
• Perform basic facility maintenance as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines

Additional Duties:

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse operations experience required
• Ability to safely use hand tools and light power tools
• Attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
• Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred
• Forklift operation experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and customers

Physical Requirements:

• Regular standing, walking, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and use of hands/fingers
• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Environmental Conditions:

• May occasionally be exposed to moderate noise, heavy machinery, and elevated work areas
