Recycling Specialist

Position: Recycling Specialist
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Recycling Specialist to support warehouse recycling operations in Rochester, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to build long-term experience while contributing to environmentally responsible material recovery processes. The Recycling Specialist will be responsible for sorting, dismantling, and processing electronic equipment and materials while following strict quality, environmental, health, and safety standards. This role is ideal for individuals with warehouse experience who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in maintaining efficient operations.

Pay Rate:

• $17.00/Hour

Shift(s):

• 1st Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Monday - Friday

Job Duties:

• Safely handle, sort, and process end-of-life electronic equipment and materials
• Dismantle materials and separate components into reusable and recyclable commodities
• Prepare materials for recycling, resale, and proper disposal processes
• Load and unload inbound and outbound materials while following safety procedures
• Use hand tools and light power tools to assist with material processing
• Maintain accurate workflow and follow established recycling procedures
• Perform basic facility maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed
• Follow all Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) policies and operational guidelines
• Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or process concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience required
• Experience safely using hand tools and light power tools preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred
• Ability to follow detailed processes and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and customers
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to work in a warehouse and industrial environment
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, and use of hands throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to work around heavy machinery, moderate noise, and elevated work areas
• Must have strong visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Ability to safely perform physical material handling tasks while following all safety requirements
