Overview

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a mission-critical manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. This role will focus on architecting, deploying, and supporting IT and operational technology network infrastructure across both corporate and factory floor environments.

The engineer will work with Cisco-based network technologies, support LAN, WLAN, and IoT communication methods, and help migrate the site from an Enterprise Wide Network authentication model to a site-level domain controller model. This position will also support the development and deployment of Special Use Networks to better protect critical semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for on-premises network infrastructure across enterprise and manufacturing environments.
  • Support Cisco-based LAN, WLAN, routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and IoT communication technologies.
  • Design, develop, and deploy Special Use Networks to segment and secure mission-critical manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues across IT and OT environments.
  • Support switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, monitoring tools, and related network technologies.
  • Collaborate with factory systems, manufacturing operations, process engineering, equipment engineering, and corporate IT teams.
  • Support network-level equipment integration and automation within a semiconductor manufacturing framework.
  • Partner with corporate IT and security teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity standards.
  • Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration records, change logs, automation scripts, and system configurations.
  • Monitor and manage network health, performance, capacity, resilience, redundancy, and high availability.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience supporting enterprise and industrial network infrastructure in manufacturing or site environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco network and routing equipment.
  • Strong factory floor networking experience, including Level 2/3 OT environments and collaboration with Level 3.5/4 IT networks.
  • Strong network fundamentals, including firewalls, VPN, VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with high availability, redundancy, and Quality of Service protocols.
  • Experience with network segmentation, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps network operations, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring and alerting pipelines, version control, and automated deployment.
  • 2 years of PowerShell scripting experience.
  • 1 year of experience with service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Ability to document network architecture, automation scripts, and system configurations.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • CCNA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with multi-vendor network equipment such as Cisco, Arista, Dell, or Palo Alto.
  • Experience with network patching tools such as Tanium or Chef.
  • Experience applying security hardening practices to network devices and operating systems.
  • Experience with data protection and recovery platforms such as Rubrik, Veeam, Commvault, or Zerto.
  • Strong understanding of IT/OT convergence, industrial protocols, SCADA systems, MES platforms, and equipment integration.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing-focused Windows PCs and servers.
  • Knowledge of industrial network architectures, including layered models, DMZs, secure remote access, and redundant topologies.
