(Senior) Software Engineer - Back-Office & Settlement Systems

You will drive the end-to-end development, enhancement, and production reliability of core in-house settlement and trading applications. Collaborating across business units and offshore development teams, your work directly ensures seamless trade processing, high code quality, and operational excellence for critical back-office systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and operations units to gather requirements, implement system modifications, and drive upgrades.
• Direct offshore development teams to deliver core in-house settlement system features.
• Perform rigorous code reviews to enforce code quality, optimal performance, and robust software standards.
• Deliver daily production support for back-office settlement trading platforms, resolving technical incidents efficiently.
• Execute full system development lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in scheduled weekend maintenance windows and complete ad-hoc technical projects.

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Java and SQL development; 2 years’ experience in trading system support is a big plus.
• In-depth domain knowledge of securities operations and financial products including equities, futures, options, bonds, and structured products.
• Hands-on technical proficiency with Java, Oracle, PL/SQL, Hibernate, and the Spring framework on Linux and Windows platforms.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, planning, and risk awareness capabilities to handle production issues independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
