Overview:
Join a dynamic team as an NPI Technician in a fast-paced R&D environment, where your technical expertise will drive innovative hardware projects from development through to production. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of new product introductions, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless transitions and successful product launches. Based onsite in South San Francisco, you'll play a pivotal role in bridging manufacturing engineering and sustaining manufacturing efforts.
Required Skills:
- Strong electro-mechanical hardware troubleshooting experience
- Ability to read and navigate CAD designs effectively
- Experience with software troubleshooting, including Python scripting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to define work instructions based on design engineer input
- Risk assessment skills for assembly and production processes
- Flexibility with work hours, including occasional weekend work
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently
- Capacity for context switching and understanding diverse technical challenges
- Ability to translate technical problems from production or maintenance teams into actionable solutions
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience leading technical teams or projects
- Knowledge of manufacturing process risk management
- Past experience supporting hardware changes during NPI
- Broader understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance
- Ability to travel to resolve issues onsite as needed
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field preferred
- Prior experience in NPI, hardware development, or manufacturing engineering
- Proven track record in troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems
Other Requirements:
- This position is onsite only in South San Francisco
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends
- Ability to travel for on-site troubleshooting and support tasks
- Must possess the discipline to transition seamlessly from development to production environments
