Production Assembler 1st Shift Ontario, CA

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm

Contract to Hire (will be hired in before any travel occurs)

Candidates must be available to travel to San Antonio, TX for 1-2 weeks at a time for training. Travel, hotel, per diem for food will all be covered.

• Read and understand blueprints and routings to produce parts from them to the required specifications.
• Responsible for the quality of the assemblies produced. Perform first piece inspection and subsequent inspections to ensure overall quality.
• Responsible for the care of routine maintenance and keeping the work area neat and clean.
• Follow all rules regarding machine operation and machine guarding.
• Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety.
• Utilize hand tools such as an automatic wire stripper, handheld screwdriver, and/or drill guns.
• Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Identify product defects and report it.
• Operate functional area equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely data.
• Report any safety problems, hazards, accidents and near misses to management.
• Properly use safety equipment, including machine guarding, interlocks and safety curtains are working properly or report it.
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve simple quality product issues.
• Meet standards and tolerances.
• Other job tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Skills and Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in assembly or fabrication.
• Thermoforming experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together accurately.
• Understanding MSDS and handling of hazardous materials.
• Work alone or in a team environment.
• Regular good attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to stand, sit, stoop or bend, reach above shoulders up to 25% of time.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Education - Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
