Network Troubleshooting Technician

Nesco Data Center is seeking a Network Troubleshooting Tech in the Greater Albuquerque NM Area.

Position: Network Technician / Remote Hands Technician (Part-time)

Position Overview
The Network Technician provides on-site technical support for network infrastructure on an as-needed, ticket-based basis. The technician serves as the physical "hands and eyes” for remote network engineers by accessing equipment, connecting console cables, observing equipment and cabling, performing basic troubleshooting, and carrying out technical instructions provided remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond onsite to ad hoc network, infrastructure, and bench-support tickets.

• Work directly with remote network engineers to execute troubleshooting and technical tasks.

• Connect to network equipment using a laptop, console cables, adapters, and other standard technician tools.

• Perform physical inspections of switches, routers, firewalls, servers, cabling, ports, and related equipment.

• Identify and verify equipment, port numbers, cable connections, indicator lights, serial numbers, and other physical information.

• Perform basic cable tracing, cable moves, device reboots, component swaps, and connectivity checks as directed.

• Provide real-time video, photographs, observations, and status updates to remote engineers when requested.

• Follow detailed remote instructions accurately and communicate any issues or unexpected conditions.

• Document work performed, equipment information, test results, and ticket status.

• Maintain a professional onsite presence and follow all applicable facility security and access procedures.
