LV - Senior Accountant

Position Overview

As a Senior Business Services Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services, and supporting the development of junior team members. You will apply your strong technical skills in taxation — including Division 7A, trust taxation, and business structuring — to provide strategic and compliant outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.

Manage complex tax compliance and advisory work, including:

Provide tailored business and taxation advice to clients, including structuring, cash flow, and tax planning strategies.

Review work prepared by junior accountants and provide training and mentoring.

Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.

Support managers and partners on complex technical matters and client engagements.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax legislation, ATO rulings, and accounting standards.

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.

CPA or CA qualified (or near completion).

Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in business services and taxation within a public practice environment.

Demonstrated experience with Division 7A compliance and related shareholder/associate loan management.

Strong technical understanding of Australian taxation law, including trusts, companies, CGT, FBT, and GST.

Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, HandiSoft, APS, or similar).

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Collaborative team player with leadership and mentoring capability.
